The large-scale multi-phase masonry and window restoration project at Northwestern University’s Swift Hall, Swift Hall Annex, and Cresap Laboratory included over 575 wood windows and full facade restoration. Each window was studied by the team in an intensive survey and conditions assessment. Construction documents were prepared to restore historic windows and replace selected non-original windows. The project also included the restoration of the limestone-clad building exterior with masonry repairs, tuckpointing, shelf angle replacement, and a full exterior cleaning.

Swift Hall was designed by architect George Maher in the Prairie style for the College of Engineering in 1909.  The Annex addition to the north and the Cresap Laboratory addition to the south were both designed by Holabird and Root and were completed in 1947 and 1949, respectively. The building is a City of Evanston Historic Landmark.
