The Loder Hall renovation included a transformation of the 35,000 square-foot 1959 dormitory to provide classroom space, offices, kitchen and dining, bookstore, student center, lounge, and sleeping rooms with private baths. The renovation included a new elevator, electrical, plumbing, and geothermal mechanical systems with geothermal wells installed under a parking lot, finishes and furnishings, telecommunications, and landscaping. The limestone facade was repaired, including the extension of the parapet to provide space for insulation, and the new green roof and windows improved the envelope for LEED NC Gold Certification.
