Deteriorated beyond repair, McGuire Igleski was tasked with finding a replacement glazing system for the teak curtain wall and windows of the atrium and connected bridge in The Kersten Physics Teaching Center at The University of Chicago. As a prominent building on the campus, it was essential to find an alternative for the wood windows that maintained the original design intent but allowed for improved future maintenance. Extensive research led McGuire Igleski to an aluminum system with a wood grain finish and new glazing to match the original reflective glass.
