The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center gymnasium underwent a complete interior renovation to address damage to the existing flooring caused by multiple sources of moisture infiltration. McGuire Igleski designed a multi-faceted new gym floor system, including waterproofing, shock absorption, vented wall base, and repairs to the floor slab. The new maple flooring assembly was then prepared for multiple sporting activities with accurate game lines and volleyball floor sleeves. The renovation scope also included the restoration of the original glue-laminated structural arches and updated finishes throughout. The furnishing of the space was complete with a new telescoping bleacher system, scoreboards, and wall padding.
