Erica Ruggiero
Associate AIA
Erica is a principal at McGuire Igleski & Associates who leads the firm’s preservation services, from planning projects and cultural resource surveys to landmark designations and condition assessments. Her experience is rooted in her intersecting passions for history, culture, and the built environment, and commitment to maintaining the authenticity, integrity, and character of a place, while adapting it for the current community.
Erica has grounded her work in a service-based approach focused on advocating for communities that have been excluded from traditional services, while focusing on building a more inclusive and equitable future for the field. For this, she was recognized as one of the Landmarks Illinois Influencers for their 50th Anniversary.
In her free time, she serves as Board President of Chicago for Chicagoans, leads architectural heritage tours, and enjoys gardening and bowling.
