Project Architect
Description
Project Architect (8+ of experience): MIA is seeking a Project Architect to lead and manage multiple small to mid-size rehabilitation, renovations and additions to existing buildings, and accessibility projects for a variety of market sectors including, education (higher ed and K12), local government, cultural institutions, and transportation. The Project Architect will be a primary client liaison and responsible for design production and coordination, maintaining a schedule, and evaluating the Owner’s requirements within budget constraints.
Candidates should be detailed oriented architects interested in working independently and in a team to perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity including building conditions assessments; planning, occupancy, and accessibility studies; and design layouts. As part of each project, the Project Architect will prepare written reports; project specifications; architectural construction documents; and review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations from consultants. The Project Architect may also be responsible for the preparation of proposals and contracts; and office administrative tasks
Requirements
U.S. professional degree in Architecture, plus 8+ years of related experience to work in a small, award-winning firm on renovation and preservation projects. Experience preparing architectural and design construction documents, existing condition assessments, and feasibility and accessibility studies.
Ability to work in a team environment: multi-talented; ability to effectively and professionally communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, and co-workers, verbally and in written documents, as well as basic graphic presentation skills; rendering capabilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; proficiency in Revit and/or 3D modeling is desired, but not required. A professional license is required.
The position is in-person, though MIA allows for some flexible work hours and schedule.
Salary
Commensurate with ability.
